In School of Dragons, the Death Song, which has an Attack of 16, has a game Attack power of 8, but the Slithersong only has a game Attack Power of 7. However, School of Dragons indicates that there is a slight difference in their Attack, Speed, and Firepower.though only slight. This would mean the Slithersong has an an Armor stat of 16, a Venom stat of 0, a Jaw Strength stat of 10, and a Stealth stat of 0, just like the Death Song. Overall, I say it's like these dragons have many of the same statistics. Now with that all cleared up, let's explore these two very similar dragons! While School of Dragons' version is arguably more intriguing, I always default to the media that created the dragon species, so I default to the Rise of Berk version where coloration is really the only visible difference between the two subspecies.Īnd finally, I didn't do this creature's blind spot because we see in Race to the Edge that it can't see things behind it.

In Rise of Berk, it simply looks like a Death Song with different coloration, but in School of Dragons, it has slight anatomical differences in the sizing of certain features. There's also inconsistencies in the representation of the Slithersong's appearance. Nevertheless, I have included the Death Song subspecies in the title since it is more popular and well-known than the common Slithersong among fans. And this why I have decided to do these two together, as it makes as much sense for me to do so as it does for me to do the Woolly Howl and Snoggletog Wraith together. Therefore I have always treated these two dragons as two separate subspecies within the same species as that is the best explanation for the information we are given and is consistent with everything we've seen. Being subspecies is the closest relative one can be without being the same thing. School of Dragons then released the two dragons separately and called them "close relatives." All this information makes the relationship between the Slithersong and Death Song unclear, but it's not inconsistent. So according to Dragons: Rise of Berk, the origins of the Slithersong, the Death Song is a Slithersong subspecies. The Slithersong was introduced in Dragons: Rise of Berk, and the Death Song was then introduced as a type of Slithersong. In Dragons: Race to the Edge, there's no Slithersong, only the Death Song. Now before we get into this, there are a few things that need clarification due to canon inconsistencies and canon simply not being clear. As request by BeckyL97, here is the Slithersong and Death Song theories!
